By way of acknowledgment to the small but growing audience here on this little written corner of the Internet, I just wanted to virtually pen a few words to report on the absence of my intended and otherwise regular weekly installments.
On the evening of June 15, I found my way to the emergency room with what turned out to be COVID.
As a quadriplegic on isolation in the ER, it turns out a great variety of care was promptly lacking and I quickly developed additional infection and wounding as a result of the chaotic and dark conditions.
After the initial stay of a few days (?) in a dark, windowless, and therefore timeless room, I made my way onto the floor of admitted patients. Now recovered from the initial COVID, but straining from the residual concerns. It took a number of days more to escape the hospital and come home, where I remain in bed, now nearly 2 weeks later, still recovering the last of the matters.
The IV antibiotics have finished, the wounds continue to heal, and caregiving is short. Through the support of some very loving kind souls, I continue to recuperate in good spirits, though the time on my back does take a toll in the form of subtle depressive conditions.
I look forward to returning to my proverbial feet and writing something with a little more interest and invitation in the otherwise spirit of this platform.
Meanwhile, may I refer those interested to this exceptional work of art in the medium of podcast; the artist was referred to me by a couple of dear friends, and this piece in particular speaks deeply to the heart of my own sense of right direction and awareness.
Please enjoy The Emerald Podcast episode on the animation of life…
Thanks for the update Kabir. You are a true heart and always manage to survive to write another day!
