The human super-organism has reached a state in its evolutionary development where, like a young bird ready to leave the nest, it is no longer fit for its current context and must adapt and grow or fail in its viability altogether.
The existing humanity can be represented as a kind of sociocultural monoculture that has nearly colonized the entire globe. We are now facing, on multiple fronts, existential threat grounded in our current homogeneous expression (large-scale geographically and religiously bounded ideologically contentious collectives.)
Already the forces of ecosystemic decay can be seen hard at work breaking down the internal bonds of those collectives, composting the existing structure in preparation for new growth.
The “solutions” to this transformational stage threshold will not be conceived, designed, nor implemented from any single segment of society, group, or ideology. Rather, like a landscape undergoing ecological succession from one species structure to the next, the novel growth and future synergies will emerge in unique, distinct patches and clusters of experimentation and creativity.
As a new state structure coheres and matures, these new micro-enterprise can begin to weave themselves together into a new order of synergy (like the imaginal cells in a chrysalis,) allowing the vital nutrients to flow throughout the landscape fostering a fecund expression of harmony; human beings with themselves, with one another, and with all our relations on this living earth. Like ecological succession, there is no guarantee as to the “direction” of this development, and we could just as easily trend towards a metaphoric desert as towards rain forest.
Within the natural growth of individual organisms, ecosystems, and cultures, there are detectable, discernible, low-level patterns throughout this process that can be understood, cared for and supported with intentional engagement.
We have many existing minds, models, and reality frames already in service in the world today that can be applied in service to the character arc of these patterns to aid in trending them towards greater flourishing and vitality.
There are already existing initiatives in nearly every dimension of human societies, from learning, economics, governance and decision-making, health, industry and infrastructure, culture and spirituality, to coming home to ourselves and our natural brothers and sisters of the living world.
Serving the subtle boundaries and connective tissues between these various collective initiatives stands as a high leverage opportunity to accelerate the evolutionary process towards a re-integrative harmony of liveliness for the biosphere.
This conversation and enterprise is a good place to begin one such initiative of service.
The overarching movement of this affair is not one of passive waiting, nor is it characterized by a driving linear industrial focus of the body-mind of humanity. Rather, the underlying pattern of this chapter is one of reciprocal synergies representing not only material technologies, or collective moralities, but a more subtle dance of all of these that MUST be informed by a deep and subtle aesthetic sensibility of the art and beauty of the affair.
The organisms (formerly organizations) that serve in this context will appear differently when viewed from different angles. Each conventional facet of these collective expressions will reflect a positive appreciation of familiar structures (business, politic, cultural, etc.), but will constitute a new order dynamic indigenous to this transitionary ecosystem.
